Wherein Lies Continue 11. Snuff 12. All Hope is Gone Reviewer: Eric Slipknot has seen shining stars with their 2004 release Vol.3: (The Subliminal Verses). The band as a whole is use to high record sales and numerous awards, either from the industry or magazines. All Slipknot can do right now is get bigger, but that isn’t the case with All Hope is Gone. Almost every member of Slipknot did their own thing during the four year break in-between albums. Corey Taylor and Jim Root had the biggest success with Stone Stoner, while others had lesser projects that couldn’t compare to Slipknot’s fame. When it was time for the band to get back together and record another album it was safe to say that Slipknot had a lot of ideas for a new record. This assumption would be wrong, All Hope is Gone can be summed up as an experimental Stone Sour album. Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses) saw huge sales and it also received a Grammy for the single Before I Forgot. Slipknot must have known that if they did the same thing again then they could clean house again at the Grammy’s. All Hope is Gone has plenty of Stone Sour-isc songs, yet at the same time there are a limited amount of heavy metal Slipknot songs. These two do combine together in some tracks and right away you will be taken back to 2004 when Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses) came out. It took four years to make this album, I think this album could have been created within a year. The album has been marketed as a Slipknot album that is taking no shit for anyone. All the haters and the music industry can kiss Slipknot’s ass while they release the sort for of album they want to. Two of the songs Slipknot released prior to the albums release (All Hope is Gone and Psychosocial) sounded like the band was going to bring back their Iowa sound, which to me was the best sounding Slipknot album to date. This is why listening to All Hope is Gone is so hard, the band lied and Roadrunner Records sure in hell lied by the skin of their teeth. Slipknot is also trying to write songs that pertain to our government. Slipknot as a political band? I didn’t buy it either, Corey Taylor should know better than to write songs about the government on a Slipknot album. It just seems completely out of place, even the nu-metal guitar riffs are out of place too. I thought Slipknot was trying to get away from nu-metal, but hey if you are going to bring back that style then by all means go ahead with political songs from a band that wears mask. Nobody is going to listen to Taylor’s lyrics and say “he’s got a point”. Final Verdict Corey Taylor needs to realize that Stone Sour and Slipknot are two totally different bands. Everyone else in Slipknot knows this, but why didn’t they say anything with All Hope is Gone was in production? It is safe to say that Slipknot is only around now just to make money. Until Slipknot apologizes I am going to hide all my Slipknot albums except Iowa. Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/164289222/Sl...mk.com.rar Password: http://www.warez-mk.com | ||||
